INNCOM International Announces Strategic Alliance with CAIS Internet to Jointly Offer High Speed Internet and In-Room Automation SolutionsJune 1, 2000 Old Lyme, Connecticut – INNCOM, the leading provider of guestroom energy control systems to the global lodging market, and CAIS Internet [NASDAQ: CAIS], the leader in broadband Internet access solutions to hotels, will jointly offer the most advanced, integrated solution to hotel owners and operators nationwide. Using the existing in-building network that CAIS deploys, INNCOM’s solution will result in a hotel room that is more convenient for the guest and far more cost-efficient for the hotel owner. Hotel guests will soon be able to control many features in their room, including temperature, lighting, TV, telephone and other features, using just one automated interface. The alliance saves property owners 20-30% per room on energy usage, enabling them to maximize savings while giving their guests the ability to control in-room luxuries through an automated interface. Energy management data from each room will ride the CAIS in-building network to a central location where it will be collected and analyzed. As part of the alliance agreement, CAIS will make a $4.2 million equity investment in INNCOM and join its Board of Directors. Duane Buckingham, President of INNCOM stated, "This type of alliance is unprecedented in the industry. It will accelerate the deployment of both our energy management and in-room automation technology and CAIS Internet's services. With CAIS Internet's growing presence in the hotel industry, it's a natural partner for INNCOM. Our advanced hotel management tools combined with automated interfaces for controlling room features will raise the bar for guestroom quality in the hospitality industry." “This unique alliance between two industry leaders will provide value-added benefits for hotel guests and property owners,” responded Ulysses G. Auger, II, CEO of CAIS Internet. “With this alliance, CAIS shows how we can benefit from technology to create forward thinking solutions for the hospitality industry.” About INNCOM InternationalINNCOM International, Inc. is the worldwide leader in integrated guestroom control systems in the lodging industry.
