Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa Installs INNCOM Wireless Energy Management Technology

NIANTIC, CT - The Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood, FL, has selected INNCOM International's guestroom energy management and wireless communication system for installation in its 1000-room property. Hotel management expects this advanced in-room technology to slice more than 5% from the over $3 million it spends on electricity annually, saving the upscale resort more than $150,000 per year.

The hotel is installing INNCOM's newest wireless infrared technology that allows the thermostat to control guestroom temperature while sending and receiving information on the wireless network. Guests of the Westin Diplomat are also able to better control their environment by setting the room at a specific temperature setting, digitally.

"We are a large resort and our utility bills are equally large," said David Martinez, the Westin Diplomat's Director of Engineering. "One of the first things we recognized was how harnessing guestroom temperature control could have the biggest impact with energy conservation."

A wireless system also slashed installation time compared to models dependant on direct connectivity, helping the Westin Diplomat complete installation in an additional two or three guestrooms per day. This saves installation costs for the owners, while eliminating intrusion to their paying guests.

"INNCOM has been very supportive as we prepared and installed this advanced system and I'm extremely happy to have such a sophisticated product in our hotel. I am looking forward to reaping its benefits," said Martinez.

Geoff Messinger, VP of INNCOM's Southeast region said he is thrilled the Westin Diplomat chose INNCOM to supply its in-room energy conservation temperature control system.

"We are proud to be selected by the Westin Diplomat. This wireless system will not only help them manage energy costs, but will be an extension of their amenity offerings, providing guests with better services," said Messinger.
