Sharing communication protocols offers efficient and cost-effective installation solutions for hoteliers
NIANTIC, CT and MILLERSVILLE, MD– June 24, 2002: INNCOM international, inc., the global leader in integrated guestroom control systems, and Bartech Systems International, the world’s largest provider of automated mini-bars, have formed a strategic alliance to exchange communication technology and protocols. The alliance enables “intelligent room” monitoring and reporting technology that shares a single coaxial, twisted pair, or CAT5 Ethernet cable.
INNCOM’s INNcontrol™ and Bartech’s network both provide a fully automated front-desk control and real-time communication system to monitor and report on usage of Bartech’s intelligent
e-fridge™ or the INNCOM e4™ smart thermostat. Either network will be able to carry the data from the room’s mini-bar or thermostat to the front desk PMS.
Marc Cohen, Bartech’s executive vice-president, said, “The advantages of this alliance for hoteliers are tremendous. Not only does it offer a giant leap forward for integrated systems in an intelligent room, but it saves the hotel the costs of installing multiple communication lines and interfaces.”
“INNCOM is pleased and enthusiastic about our growing relationship with Bartech," said Duane Buckingham, INNCOM president and CEO. "A “buzz phrase” generator might describe our alliance as symbiotic technology convergence, but I would call it common sense. Take two leading systems with different functional purposes and run them both over a common system backbone. It reduces the capital expense and lowers maintenance costs. Sharing communication protocols is another innovative solution in smart guestroom technology.”
