April 8, 2002
NIANTIC, CT – April 8, 2002: INNCOM international, inc., the global leader in integrated guestroom control systems, is pleased to announce the promotion of Richard N. Quirino to Executive Vice President of Marketing and Operations.
In his expanded role, Quirino has overall responsibility for virtually every activity in which INNCOM interfaces with its customers. He oversees marketing activities, domestic and international sales, application engineering, field operations, quality control, and customer satisfaction.
"Rick brings considerable industry expertise and operations acumen to this position", said Duane Buckingham, INNCOM president and CEO. "His appointment underscores INNCOM's total commitment to providing five-star products, services, and customer satisfaction."
"Managing the entire project flow from start-to-finish ensures that our customers receive the highest quality product delivered and installed with the least disruption to their operation," said Quirino. "The importance of integrated guestroom controls will continue to increase dramatically over the coming years, and I firmly believe we have the right combination of product, skills, and experience to satisfy the increasing demand for guestroom energy management and control systems. Our R&D division, the largest of its kind in the industry, is constantly refining and improving our existing product line while looking to the future for new product applications that offer both technical and operational solutions to the lodging sector."
Quirino joined INNCOM in 1996 with an extensive background of sales and marketing experience in the lodging industry. He began his sales career in 1962 with the commercial products division of RCA providing electronic devices and systems to hoteliers across the USA. In 1990, Quirino left RCA to assume the position of president of Robobar Inc., North America. Under his leadership, the company became the leading worldwide provider of automated minibar systems. When the company was acquired five years later, Quirino was named Vice President of Sales for Minibar North America.
A native of Los Angeles, Quirino served three years on active duty in the U.S. Army before earning his degree in business administration.
Founded in 1986, INNCOM develops, manufactures and markets advanced, software-based guestroom control systems to the global lodging market. It is the acknowledged leader in this market and originated the concept of integrating multiple communications and control functionality over a single hotel network. Many products in its line of systems use patented infrared control technology to reduce installation time and costs.
INNCOM systems are installed in more than 100,000 guestrooms, including many of the most notable hotels in the world, such as Mark Hopkins, St. Regis, Gaylord Palms, Fairmont, Hotel Grand Pacific, and L’Ermitage, among others.
